Diamondback 510UB Exercise Bike Review

The Diamondback 510UB Upright gives you a comfortable ride with plenty of seat and handlebar adjustments for more riding positions plus this bike has nice console features for your fitness-routine variety and for additional motivation.

The 510UB is Diamondback's Entry Level Upright model and is more reasonably priced than the other high-end stationary bikes that Diamondback produces.

Diamondback Fitness makes mid-range to high-end residential fitness bikes only so when I refer to the Diamondback 510UB as being an Entry Level bike, this is only relative to other Diamondback stationary bikes. Overall, this bike would be considered a mid-range to upper mid-range Upright Fitness Bike.

If you like Diamondback outdoor bikes than you will love Diamondback Fitness bikes. Diamondback Fitness bikes are a big step up in quality over most Diamondback outdoor bikes.

The Diamondback 510UB is loaded with features for a comfortable, productive and motivational aerobic workout, has an good warranty and is very affordable.

Adjustability and Comfort

The seat has plenty of padding and is adjustable up and down as well as forward and backwards. The console and handlebars on the Diamondback 510UB tilt for easy viewing and an even more comfortable fit.

You will probably be more comfortable on the Diamondback 510UB than you would be on your own outdoor bike and you will still be able to get a good low impact aerobic workout.

Console Features, Variety and Motivation

The console is intuitive and easy to operate with a light touch and the large, bright blue LCD console display is easy to read. The QuickSet program keys let you start your favorite routines with a single touch.

For variety there are 20 built-in workout programs plus Target Heart Rate programs that control the bikes resistance levels based on the target heart rate that you choose.**

For additional motivation, the Diamondback 510UB comes with an iPod/MP3 player jack and built in speakers and to help pass the time and keep your mind off of a routine workout the 510UB has a handy fold out magazine rack.

About-Bicycles Review

The Diamondback 510UB Upright is designed well and has quite a few nice features as described above. The seat and handlebar adjustability is great and the handlebar shape is good for multiple riding positions which can help to reduce fatigue.

The iPod/MP3 player jack and speakers are a nice feature (although not uncommon on exercise cycles these days). Keep in mind that you will need a separate cord to connect your iPod and/or MP3 player to the jack on the bike.

This bike does come with an AC power cord so it is not just powered by batteries although some people have found the maximum resistance levels to be too low for a serious workout.

Although there were no actual customer reviews for this bike at Amazon at the time of this review, based on the reviews of other Diamondback stationary bikes, some people have had quality control issues (broken or damaged parts on delivery for example).

Overall, the design and features on this Upright Exercise Bike are very nice.

For comparison purposes, I would suggest checking out the Livestrong LS5.0U Upright.
