Livestrong E-Series LS Indoor Cycle Review

The Livestrong E-Series LS Indoor Cycle is most affordable indoor cycle in the Livestrong by Matrix commercial line. Although this indoor cycle has been designed for commercial use (health clubs, fitness cycling classes, etc.), you can also purchase this bike, for individual use online (see the link below).Livestrong E Series LS Indoor Cycle

I had an excellent opportunity to meet with the manager for Livestrong commercial fitness equipment in addition to the product manager for Livestrong Indoor Cycles (sporting goods line) on my recent trip to Johnson Fitness, in Madison Wisconsin (the manufacturer of the Livestrong bikes).

I was able to review and compare the E-Series LS (commercial bike), the S-Series LS (commercial bike) and the Livestrong LS28IC (Limited Edition bike) side by side with a personal overview of each of these indoor cycles from the specialists in their respective product lines at Johnson.

What I found, with my side by side reviews of these Indoor Cycles, is that there are only a few (but notable) differences between the two commercial line models (the E-Series LS and the S-Series LS) and that the S-Series LS is almost exactly the same as the LS28IC (Limited Edition bike). See the comparisons below for the details.

Note: The Livestrong E-Series LS Indoor Cycle is no longer available from this site or no longer for sale online.

(was selling from Livestrong for $1,395).

E-Series LS and S-Series LS Commercial Indoor Cycle Comparison

Both Indoor Cycles:

  • Have the exact same steel frame with zinc oxide coating but with different color schemes.
  • Have the exact same warranty.
  • Have a 40lb Flywheel, cantilevered brake resistance system and Kevlar (Multi-ribbon v-belt) belt system.Livestrong E Series Seat and Post
  • Have an infinitely adjustable seat which adjusts horizontally and vertically (there are no holes and pins to align) and the more sturdy square tube (note that the saddle itself and pedals are interchangeable with your outdoor bike).
  • Have dual sided strap or clip in pedals

The Major Differences:

  • The handlebars are the most noticeable difference. The S-Series has the drop down handlebar option and has both vertical and horizontal (fore and aft) infinite adjustments (vs. fixed positions) where the E-Series only has a traditional horizontal adjustment.
  • The S-Series comes with the Livestrong computer console the E-Series does not.
  • The S-Series has 6 Flywheel hub bearings and 4 Bottom bracket hub bearings where the E-Series has 4 Flywheel hub bearings and 2 Bottom bracket hub bearings.

S-Series LS and LS28IC Indoor Cycle Comparison

The main differences between the S-Series and the LS28IC Limited Edition Bike is the cosmetic differences, the warranty details, the donation amount to the Livestrong Foundation and that the LS28IC a Limited Edition bike and once the 500 units that were manufactured are sold, it will no longer be available.

The LS28IC Indoor Cycle is made from the same mold as the S-Series Indoor Cycle but it is truly meant to be inspirational and it is limited.
