NordicTrack GX2 Sport Bike Review

The NordicTrack GX2 Sport Bike is an excellent, no frills, indoor cycle  with the NordicTrack name and warranties and is currently the most economical Indoor Cycle that NordicTrack produces.

What you get with the NordicTrack GX2 is a sturdy, high quality indoor cycle that is more similar to traditional outdoor bikes, and is usually used for cycling training and more serious cardiovascular workouts.

The reason that I call this a "no frills" indoor cycle is because you do not get: Workout programs or DVDs, an electronic console, to monitor your progress and stats, nor do you get a heat rate monitor (although many cyclists will use their own chest strap monitor if they have one).

NordicTrack is the high-end brand produced by Icon Fitness (the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world) so when you are looking for a high quality Indoor Cycle at a good price, NordicTrack is a good selection.

Indoor Cycle or Exercise Bike

Indoor Cycles , such as the NordicTrack GX2 Sport Bike, are more sturdy and will not usually be quite as comfortable as a traditional Upright Exercise Bikes or Recumbent Exercise Bikes (see the sidebars for examples of these kinds of fitness bikes) but are generally more similar to traditional outdoor bikes (specifically road and racing bikes) and are used for a more intense workout or for outdoor cycle training.

Note: Do not confuse this Indoor Cycle with the NordicTrack GX2.0 Exercise Bike, which is not an indoor cycle but a traditional upright exercise bike with a magnetic resistance system and full electronics.

The NordicTrack GX2 Sport Bike is a solid, no frills indoor cycle for serious indoor training and workouts. NordicTrack is a well known brand name and manufacturer of quality fitness products and this bike is backed up with a very good warranty.

I can easily recommend the NordicTrack GX2 Sport Bike as a well made, mid-range indoor cycle but keep in mind that there are no workout DVDs included and there is no console to monitor your workout stats.

If you prefer an Indoor Cycle with a console to monitor your stats then I would suggest the Livestrong LS9.9IC.
