Affordable Recumbent with Motivational Features

The Proform 315 Recumbent is not only comfortable and affordable, it also includes some nice motivational features such as a built in iPod/MP3 player jack and speakers ~ for musical motivation as you get fit ~ and an iFit compatible console giving you the option to download additional workouts or to create courses ~ from anywhere in the world with Google Maps™.

The comfort of this fitness bike comes from the recumbent design (recumbent bikes are generally considered more comfortable than upright models), from the fully adjustable, padded seat and upper and lower handlebars.

Although you need to purchase the iFit Live Wireless adapter separately (for around $99) in order to use the iFit features, for the additional workout downloads and Google Maps™ courses, you can purchase iFit Live adapter when you get the bike or you can hold off on this additional option until you need the extra motivation.

In addition to the low cost, comfort and motivational features, Proform also throws in some other nice features including a Belt Drive System (for a quieter ride and lower maintenance), handle grip heart-rate monitors, 20 personal trainer workouts (built in), a water bottle holder and Power Output (watts) Indicator.

Although the Proform 315CSX is a very affordable (inexpensive) bike, you still get quite a few quality features for your money.

What You Get:

You get a comfortable and sturdy recumbent exercise bike at a very good price. The seat is fully adjustable (down and forward / up and back) and you get both lower and upper handlebars (also adjustable) for additional arm positions.

The Proform 315 CSX comes with transport wheels, levelers, a belt drive system (for a quieter ride and lower maintenance), pedal straps and is powered by an AC power adapter and not just by batteries. If you are going to be using your bike enough to get some a real benefit from it, then the AC power supply is an important feature.

For Motivation: The ipod/mp3 player jack is included with this bike and you also get the iFit wireless adapter option.

Since the Proform 315 CSX is iFit® compatible, you have the option to purchase the iFit® wireless adapter (which sells for around $99 and includes a Free 1 year iFit.com membership) which you can get when you purchase the bike or later when you need some extra motivation.

What You Don't Get:

Although you get the handlebar grip heart rate sensors you do not get the additional telemetry enabled (wireless) HR monitor or any Heart Rate Control programs which are available on some other Recumbent Exercise Bikes in this category and price range (the newer Schwinn Recumbent bikes, for example).
