Smooth V2300 Recumbent Elliptical Review

The Smooth V2300 Recumbent Elliptical gives you an upper and lower body workout in a different way and with more options than you get on other fitness machines.

First you get the lower body workout of a Recumbent Exercise Bike but with a wider pedaling motion than you get with a recumbent bike. This is actually a 17 inch elliptical stride and you can pedal in either the forward or reverse directions.

Next you get the upper body workout with a smooth circular pedaling style motion. This is different than the longer arm levers of a traditional elliptical trainer, works on different muscles and helps to keep the Smooth V2300 Seated Elliptical more compact. The Smooth V2300 Recumbent Elliptical actually gives you some of the best features of a Recumbent Bike ~ it's fairly compact, provides a similar pedaling motion, provides great support and is comfortable ~ and then goes on to add the benefits of an Elliptical Trainer including a low impact, full upper and lower body workout or lower body workout only.

Although there are now more Dual Action Seated Elliptical machines available online and at some B&M fitness stores, there are some flimsy, low-end models out there that you will want to stay away from. I like that you get more of a pedaling motion (the 17 inch elliptical stride) with this seated elliptical in addition to the more up and down stepper motion and it is actually really nice that you can switch between these 2 different styles easily for variety and in order to work different leg muscles.

The foam handle grips are nice and you also have the option to either use the upper grips for the upper body workout or the lower handle grips to focus on your lower body only. The pedaling motion of the upper handles give you a good workout but this is not like the longer arm motion that you get with the arm levers of a traditional elliptical trainer.

If you prefer the traditional elliptical arm levers in a dual action Seated Elliptical then I would recommend the Inspire CS2 Recumbent Elliptical. Keep in mind that the Inspire CS2 however, does not give you the 17 inch elliptical stride that you get with the the Smooth V2300.
