The largest rock wall passes along the Jane Addams trail

As we continued our ride north on the Jane Addams Trail, past Cedarville Road we came to the steeper rock wall passage in the photo above. This was a pretty impressive part of the trail. The places where the trail (previously the railroad) cut through the rocky hills provide for some good variety in scenery.

the photo above is another view of the rock wall passage from a little further back.

the bridge just past the steep rock walls

One of the wooden bridges as the Jane Addams Trail crosses over one of the rivers or creeks in the area. This is most likely over the Little Richard Creek that the trail crosses in a few different places.

A flower cross along the trail

There was a cross of flowers along the trail at this point. It looked nice but I don't really know if it was a memorial to someone or why it was there.

A more colorful view of some wetlands

Here's a more colorful look at some of the wetlands along the bike trail. This photo was provided by Dale Kiffel.

Passing over a stream along the Jane Addams trail

I just did a quick photo as we were riding on a wooden bridge over the stream below.

the Jane Addams Trail sign at Orangeville

Here's the Jane Addams Trail sign at Orangeville with the pavilion in the background. We took a little break here and had a snack at one of the picnic tables in the pavilion. Orangeville is the last town that you pass through before the Wisconsin Border and Badger State Trail.

Bent Rider on the Jane Addams Trail

A "bent" rider on the Jane Addams Trail. Recumbents are sometimes referred to as "bents" which I think is pretty appropriate (and I like the double meaning of the rider being bent too:-) ). Although I often call them bents, bent riders also have an appropriate term for our traditional upright bikes. They call them "wedgies". :-)

The Sign at the Badger State Trail. We continued our trip here but the trail descriptions and photos will be on the Badger State Trail pages (coming soon to an internet near you! :-) )

Here's the photo tour of the Jane Addams Bike trail from October, 2010.
