Unique, Specialty Brand Fitness Bikes

AFG, Advanced Fitness Group is the Specialty Brand of Johnson Health Tech (in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin). Johnson Health Tech also produces the Livestrong, Matrix, Vision Fitness, Horizon, Merit, Tempo and Treo brands.

I had a great opportunity to review AFG Fitness Bikes in detail, with the exercise bike product specialist (from JHT) on a recent trip that I made to Johnson Health Tech for a meeting that we had setup to go over their latest upright and recumbent stationary bikes and indoor cycles.

Aside from the overall quality of AFG bikes, what stands out on the AFG models are the unique and innovative features such as the side mounted console (and upturned handlebars) on the AFG 4.0AR Recumbent.

The AFG 4.0AR is easy to mount and dismount and is very comfortable but the handlebar and console design is very unique and may not be for everyone. If you are interested in this model, I would suggest testing this bike at a B&M store to be sure that it is right for you.

At this time, there are only 2 bikes being offered by AFG and both are Recumbents. Both of these stationary bikes have step-through frame designs, FreeSPIN technology (which allows you to coast without stopping), Lumbar Seat adjustments, and Lifetime Warranties on the Frames.

AFG has received 4 Best Buy Ratings from leading consumer publications in the past (ending June, 2011) and they continue to rate very high in customer satisfaction.

From my meetings at Johnson Health Tech (the maker of AFG fitness products) and the recent support that I have received that the people at Johnson Fitness are committed to quality products, customer support and healthy living.

Their contributions to the Livestrong Foundation are well know and are another good example of their commitment to overall health and fitness.

AFG does not currently have a large selection of fitness bikes (only 2) but the models that they do have are sturdy, comfortable high-end residential grade bikes. The seats on their recumbent models are a little higher than most for easier mounting and dismounting.

The AFG 2.0AR Recumbent is the most affordable model that AFG offers and is quite reasonable priced for a residential or light commercial grade recumbent.

The AFG 4.0AR Recumbent is quite unique with its side console and upturned handlebars. This can be very comfortable but I would suggest trying this bike out in a B&M store before buying online to be sure that it is right for you.

The AFG Consoles easy to operate and have 3 to 5 separate LED screens (depending on the model) which allow quick and easy feedback at a glance.
