Livestrong LS7.0B Recumbent Review

The LS7.0B Recumbent is the original recumbent exercise bike offered by Livestrong. In addition to the Livestrong quality and the many extra options not available on cheaper recumbent bikes, your online purchase will ensure a contribution to the LIVESTRONG® Foundation for the fight against cancer. Livestrong LS7.0B Recumbent

I reviewed the Livestrong LS7.0B Recumbent Bike on a recent trip to Johnson Fitness, in Madison Wisconsin (the manufacturer of the Livestrong bikes) with a personal overview of this bike from a the product specialist for exercise bikes and indoor cycles at Johnson.

It can get tedious reading and comparing all of the features and stats on fitness bikes so, for a start, I will summarize some of the key features of the LS7.0B:

  • Livetrack Interactive technology (downloadable and uploadable via the USB port),
  • Built in iPod/MP3 player jack and speakers,
  • Easy QuickZip ratcheting pedal straps,
  • Comfortable and highly adjustable oversized seat with lumbar support,
  • Contract grip heartrate monitor,
  • Incredible Livestrong warranty,
  • In addition to your workout, the donation to the Livestrong foundation when you purchase this bike online should help you feel much better too!

Note: The Livestrong LS7.0B Recumbent is No longer available (was previously selling directly from Livestrong for $699.99).

Please see Livestrong LS5.0R or Livestrong LS6.0R for the current Livestrong Recumbent Fitness Bikes.

Livestrong Interactive and MyPlate

One of the features that you can not get from other manufacturers is the Livetrack Interactive technology which allows you to track all of the details of your workout in addition to uploading your workout data to Livestrong MyPlate via the USB port.

If you are not familiar with MyPlate, this is a free service offered on the Livestrong website that allows you to track your food and calorie intake along with your exercise and workout information.

Anyone can use the Livestrong MyPlate service (and share workout information with their friends, if they choose), but you would normally need to manually enter all of your information. The Livetrack Interactive technology, included with the Livestrong workout equipment, allows you to automatically upload your workout data.

Livestrong Recumbent Models

Although Livestrong is coming out with some new recumbent stationary bikes in the fall, one of those bikes is a downgraded version of the LS7.0B, another model (in the commercial line) is much more expensive than this model. The new version, that is comparable to this model, has some upgrades (a sleaker design, new console and a more contoured mesh seat (as opposed to the flatter, padded seat on the LS7.0B))

About-Bicycles Review

We have always recommended Livestrong Bikes on this website due to the high quality of these bikes, the features that are not available from other manufacturers, their excellent warranties, and, of course, the donation to the Livestrong Foundation and the fight against cancer.

The Livestrong 7.0B Recumbent is an excellent choice for a quality stationary bike in the $600-$800 price range. Aside from the excellent warranties and overall quality, you get many additional features not offered on other stationary bikes in this price range.

If you like tracking you workouts and progress and/or sharing this information with friends and family, there is really nothing on the market that compares to the Livestrong Interactive feature.

I would definately recommend this stationary bike for anyone looking for a high quality midrange recumbent.
