A view of the winding path to the Field Museum as we rode past the Museum on our Bike the Drive ride.
Cyclist on Lake Shore Drive with the Willis Tower in the background ~ Sorry I am kind of old school and I still know this as the Sears Tower. Sorry Willis! :-)
More cyclists riding Bike the Drive on LSD (Lake Shore Drive) in Chicago.
A view of the Aon Center and surrounding buildings as we Bike the Drive heading north. Sorry, I still think of this one as the Standard Oil building. Give me another decade or so and I'll get on board with the new names. Of course, they will probably be different by then!
The Aon Center and surrounding Chicago skyline once again on our Bike the Drive ride.
As you look back from the northbound lanes of LSD on the MB Financial Bike the Drive.
I tried to capture the large numbers of cyclists on Bike the Drive along with the skyline but the cyclist are very small in comparison. If you blow up this image you can kind of get an idea of how many bike riders were on the drive.
I love this shot of the woman and kid in tandem with the pack of riders ~ or the "peloton" ~ following closely behind!
This view is as you look north on Lake Shore Drive where it turns just after crossing the Chicago River. The guy in the foreground of this photo was practicing for a role in the next Titanic movie! :-)
I liked the form this guy had as he was racing down the hill after the river. We took a lot of photos here because there was a lot of action and interesting people having fun coming down the hill.
This is a short wheel based recumbent bike (the wheel is under the riders feet) coming doing the LSD hill.
Here's the photo tour of the 2012 Bike The Drive, Chicago May 27th, 2012.
