OK, can I get an "Awww"! I have never seen a double seated trailer bike before this ride. Well, now I have. I was wondering if the 2 kids in back might be twins.
Another couple of friendly people on Bike the Drive.
The row of trees in the center of Lake Shore Drive, with the Hancock building and skyline in the background make a fairly scenic shot.
As we came to the top of the Chicago River on LSD a group of kayakers was just passing by and under the bridge. I thought it was a colorful scene so I caught a shot of it.
Dale captured this artistic view of the reflections in one of the buildings along the Chicago River. This stuff is there (even on Bike the Drive) if you know where to look.
This is a panoramic view of the buildings along the Chicago River as seen from LSD (Lake Shore Drive (of course). This was not my best panoramic view but I still wanted to include it since this is a scenic view that get get when you Bike the Drive.
A view of the Chicago Skyline with a aqua colored Lake Michigan taken from the Shedd Aquarium. This was the actual color of the lake that day.
After the ride you have the Post-Ride Festival.
We took a little post-Bike-The-Drive ride along the Chicago Lakefront bike path after the event was over. This is where Dale got this photo of Buckingham Fountain.
OK, this is actually a flashback to the beginning of our ride but I didn't want to start with the photo tour with these last few photos. Above is the sunrise over Lake Michigan as we started our Bike the Drive ride.
And this is how I actually started my Bike the Drive ride. Repairing my bike!!! I rarely have problems but on this ride my Powergrip pedal strap and part of my pedal fell apart. Well at least it happened before the ride and I was able to fix it fairly quickly.
Here's the photo tour of the 2012 Bike The Drive, Chicago May 27th, 2012.
