Robert McClory Bike Path - Photos
From Lake Bluff to the Kenosha Trail

Here's the Robert McClory Trail at the start of our trip (heading north) from the Lake Bluff train station.

This is where you go past the Great Lakes Naval Base.

Here's where we are going through North Chicago (I believe). This is not the most scenic area... and I was glad that we were there in the daylight...

Like I said in the intro for this trail, there are some parts of this trail that are not so nice... I never particularly like when I see a lot of gang graffiti along side the bike path...

After you get a little north of Waukegan, it starts to get a little bit nicer again.

Here's Dale on his Tour Easy recumbent heading down the Robert McClory trail... I had a chance to ride this recumbent on this trip and it was really nice (probably my next bike).

It's not all that scenic, but still a nice ride...

There are some tree covered, shaded places along this path, but mostly on the northern end I would say...

As you can see by the sign, this is where the Robert McClory trail ends... and the Kenosha trail begins...

I always like a nice bike trail bridge photo...

We did not go very far on this trail and I really would like to sometime... There is just so much time in the day and so many miles that you can do on each ride! It looks like a really nice trail based on the short time that we did ride on it though...

I believe that this may be on the trail heading back south again...

I just had to include this photo because it was kind of an interesting stop that we made... It was incredibly hot that day and not many good places for a break or for shade... We found this house that was under construction and snuck in and had a nice lunch in the shade of someones new house!!!

This is 9th Street where we headed east to the Illinois State Beach Park... There is a bike lane along this road and it was a pretty nice ride to the beach... (See the Illinois State Beach Path link below for more).
