Fallen Tree on MCT

This photo is close to the halfway mark as I rode north on the Mammoth Cave Trail from the southern end of the trail. Most of the trail was clear but, as you can see there is a fallen tree covering part of the trail here.

Mammoth Cave Bike Trail as seen from the trail

This is how the trail looks when you crash and look up!

OK, just kidding (or speculating actually). Occasionally, I like to get a view of the trail from the trail (especially in the fall). In this case I set my camera on a small branch that was on the trail with the yellow leaves for the photo (now you know my secret photo technique).

mcT and walkway around Sloans Crossing Pond.

This photo was taken at Sloans Crossing Pond. There is a small parking area here and, as you can see in the photo (upper right), a walkway that goes out to the pond and I believe around the pond also.

I also took a Google Street View 3D Spherical Photo at this location which you can find with Street View in Google Maps (it just shows as a dot here since I did not take multiple photos) or with this Sloans Crossing Pond Street View Link - Check it out if you want to look around this area in 3D (there is a distorted view of my bike in it also).

Coming up to wooden bridges on trail

This is where the MC Trail is coming up to the wooden bridges across from the Overlook that is on the Mammoth Cave Parkway road.

Wide view of wooden bridge across from Overlook on MCT

This photo is a little wider (panoramic) view of the bridge that is across from the overlook. The enlarged version shows the photo better, of course.

Second Wooden bridge across from the overlook

The photo above is coming up to the second wooden bridge near the overlook. I crossed the road to check out the overlook which was pretty nice but you also get some pretty good views just looking over the side of the bridges too. You realize what a steep drop off it is at this point.

Wooden walkway on Mammoth Cave Bike and Hike trail

There are a few places on this trail where they used like a wooden walkway. It's a little narrower than most of the path but easy to ride on.

The Mammoth Cave Trail as it comes out of the woods

This is the last photo that I took before the trail comes out of the woods and into the main visitor area for the park. If you look closely you can see that this is where the path also changes from crushed stone to pavement. The paved section is very limited though.

Mammoth Cave Trail Photo Tour

Here's the photo tour of the Mammoth Cave Trail with plenty of first hand riding details. This ride was from October 22, 2017.
