Nicolet Bay and Outdoor Theater

This is where the trail runs right next to the campground (on the right) with a hammock strung from the trees. Nicolet Bay is just off to the left in the photo above.
I thought that this was a little strange and something that I have never seen along a bike trail before, an Outdoor Theater! It's called Northern Sky Theater as you can see in the next photo and there were a group of people working on the stage when I rode there to take a look.
This is the Northern Sky Outdoor Theater. I talked to a lady briefly who told me that they had a play coming up and they were making preparations for it and might also be rehearsing soon. I thought it was interesting but was not able to just hang out there all day...

This is the stage with the theater people working on it. I don't know what the play was going to be but it looks like a train car with Green Bay and Western written on it in the background.
I'm pretty sure that this is the "lobby" for the theater, right? Either that or the Stonehenge of the park. Either way it's something I have never run across before on a bike ride. :-)
On the way back the signs for the trail take you out on to some park roads. The roads were pretty nice and I never saw a car on my ride but I believe that they are active roads.
It is often hard to capture a steep hill in a photo and it is hard to tell how steep the hill is in this photo but it was pretty steep. At least it was downhill!

The Door County Sunset Photos
Door County has some beautiful sunsets in this area. Although these sunset photos were not taken from the "Sunset Trail", they were taken in the same area in Fish Creek, just south of the park and Ephriam Bay just north of the park. Dale Kiffel took these excellent sunset pics in this area and I just had to include them in this article.
