Green Bay and Robert McClory Trail
Winnetka and Glencoe

This is coming up to the Gazebo at the Henry J Kalk Park in Glencoe as I continue my ride south from Glencoe to Wilmette.

Note: The remainder of this photo tour is from April 2012. Although the photo sequence is still north to south the photos were taken from the other direction so you will have the rear view mirror effect from this point on. In other words the photos are in order from north to south but most of the photos were taken facing north.

A winding part of the trail between 2 parks in Glencoe. This part of the photo tour is also from early spring so the trees do not have all their leaves and the vegetation is still a little sparse.

The Green Bay Trail sign as you pass through Glencoe. This part of the trail is right next to the train tracks (on the right in the photo above). I stopped a lot on this ride in order to get these photos to document the trail but you can actually ride non-stop for quite a while on this part of the trail which is nice.

The metra trains run right next to the GBT and are really loud as they pass by (these are commuter trains so there will be more passing by at peak commuting times). I am not sure exactly where the border between Glencoe and Winnetka is but I'm pretty sure that this photo is not the Winnetka part of the trail.

The photo above shows the tall bridge where you pass under Pine Street on the Green Bay Trail. You go under a number of roads with these tall bridges on this part of the trail. It's nice that the bridges are here to go over the train tracks so you don't have to cross all these roads when you ride the trail.
