Silver Spring Drive to Milwaukee River

Here is one of the bridges a few miles north of SIlver Spring Road which was the northern most part of this ride. From here we headed back on the main trail to the parts of the trail that wind along the Milwaukee River.

As you can see this part of the trail is not that scenic unless you like the look of power lines. The trail is however paved and flat here so it is actually a very nice ride.

The photo above is just after we got off the main north-south trail and took the parts of the trail that wind along the Milwaukee River. This is a much more scenic part of the trail.

Above is a similar scene where you can see the Milwaukee River off in the distance.

In this photo the river is on the left  and the bridge in the distance is where the bike trail crosses the river. This area has a lot of parks and there were a lot of recreational activities happening all around this section

We stopped for a snack break at the building in the photo above. The building is actually right on the Milwaukee River and looks like it is abandoned but I do not know what it is called or what it was for. There was a bench in front though and it was a great place for a break in the shade!
