Bike path and gazebo/porch

A little further down the Millennium Trail, north of Gossell Road, are some fairly nice houses on the left and this interesting looking gazebo/porch shown below.

Gazebo porch as seen from Millennium Bike Trail

This looks like a raised gazebo to me. I believe that all of the openings were covered with screens (which is probably practical since there is a wetland area across from here).

Wetlands to the right of the MT

This is a view of the wetlands, on the right, along the Millennium Trail.

Weeds and wetlands along Millennium Trail

Some high weeds with the lake in the background. All of the photos on this bike trail photo tour are from my new DSLR camera and I was trying to get the effect of looking out at the lake through the wees with the photo above. I kind of got the effect that I was looking for but there was still room for improvement.

Open prairie sceen on bike trail

After the wetland area, the trail opens up again into another prairie scene with some newer looking houses along the path. This is where the trail runs near the residentail street, Savanna Drive and is just south of Gilmer Road.

This is looking back at the pond and the winding path that I was just on.

Millennium Trail North sign along Gilmer Road section

The Millennium Trail mostly runs along Gilmer Road at this point. This is just before the Singing Hills Forest Preserve.

Wauconda water tower as seen from MT

I'm not sure exactly what town this would be here but the water tower is for Wauconda. I believe that this is pretty much between Wauconda and Volo at this point.

Singing Hills rest area.

Ahead is the Singing Hills rest stop and parking area with the wash room and there is also an old time hand wader pump out front.

Singing Hills Parking for Millennium Trail

The Singing Hills Forest Preserve parking lot. Although I have started my trips on this trail at the Lakewood Forest Preserve, off of Fairfield Road and have headed mostly northwest, this would probably be a good place to park and get on the trail heading the other direction.

Here's the photo tour of the Millennium trail from the Lakewood Forest Preserve parking area east to the start of the main trail near Mundelein then back west and north to the northern end of the trail near Volo, from June, 2012.

Here are the Millennium Trail Fall Photos that I took in the Lakewood Forest Preserve part of the trail east of the Fairfield Road parking. These photos are from 10/16/12.
