Busse Woods Trail - Photos 11
Along Arlington Heights Rd to Bridge and Elk Herd

This is coming into Groves 26 and 27 which are just off of Arlington Heights Road south of Landmeier Road. This is getting pretty late in the day and it was actually pretty dark (or maybe just shady) in the wooded parts of the trail.

Once you pass through Groves 26 and 27 you get to this part of the trail. I am heading mostly north on the trail, at this point, heading back to the Elk heard where I started this ride. This part of the path goes pretty much parallel to Arlington Heights road...

Off to the right is the Elk Grove Bowl bowling alley (at Arlington Hts Rd and Higgins) and there is also a bike shop in the shopping center (just in case). I didn't actually go there this trip, but I believe that the bike shop is still there and it is nice to know there is one there if you need something for your bike or for a repair.

OK, I couldn't resist... I kept seeing this guy shadowing me on my ride... Yes, it's one of the famous about-bicycles.com trail photographers in action!!! As you can see I took this photo while riding and I had my old (smaller and more portable) Kodak camera with me at the time. My Nikon DSLR is bigger and bulkier on my bike trail rides, but with all the trails that I've ridden and photographed, I have gotten pretty good a taking photos even while riding (I try to stop and setup nice shots most of the time but this particular skill can come in handy at times :-) ).

Remember the photo of the other side of this bridge, way back at the beginning of the photo tour... Well, here we are looking north at the bridge that crosses Higgins (Rt 72) and goes to the Elk Herd...

Here's a close up of the bridge and one of the last photos that I got before my camera battery went dead... Wow, I took a lot of photos on this bike path! I also learned to carry a spare camera battery.
